# Connect ChatGPT

> Add AlphaYou's research tools to ChatGPT. No key needed.

AlphaYou has a research plugin for ChatGPT. It gives ChatGPT the same 19 read-only research tools as the no-key MCP server. See the [Tool catalog](https://docs.alphayou.net/api/tool-catalog.md).

## Add it

1. Open the [AlphaYou connectors page](https://alphayou.net/connectors).
2. Press **Install in ChatGPT**.
3. Open a new chat in ChatGPT.
4. Paste a question. Start with one of these:

   * "Use AlphaYou to show NVDA purchases and sales disclosed by Congress, with activity dates, filing dates and original sources."
   * "Use AlphaYou to compare AAPL fund holdings and insider transactions. Keep reporting periods and transaction types separate."
   * "Use AlphaYou to show recent BTC position changes in its tracked Hyperliquid cohort, with observation times and coverage limits."

## What to know

* **No key.** The plugin does not use an API key. Your API key and daily allowance do not apply in ChatGPT.
* **Keyed tools are not available in ChatGPT yet.** One-click add with a key needs OAuth sign-in, which is not built yet. To use a key, use [Claude Code or Claude Desktop](https://docs.alphayou.net/api/connect-claude.md), [Cursor and other apps](https://docs.alphayou.net/api/connect-cursor-and-others.md), or your own code.
* **Research only.** The plugin does not give stock quotes, analyst consensus, publisher news, saved alerts or personal allocation advice. It does not connect wallets, sign transactions or start copy trading.
* **Terms.** Using AlphaYou through the ChatGPT plugin falls under the Public Research Plugin section of the [Terms](https://alphayou.net/legal/terms).
